Zimbra

It seems like two years ago that Yahoo! bought the open source platform for communication Zimbra for 350 million dollars. Oh, well, that's because it is. But now it seems that Yahoo! Zimbra is looking to sell, and a number of other properties that do not fit the mission statement streamline the business, including HotJobs.

While Zimbra advanced messaging tools certainly left their mark on the recent update to Yahoo! Web mail client, but the real strength of Zimbra is the fact that you can deploy the software on your own server and create a corporate network, email, chat, and calendar. And this is not necessarily a Yahoo! want to be now. Instead, the company focuses on its consumer products.
